Talk:Higgins project
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Hi Phoenix-forgotten,
Thanks for maintaining the wiki and looking out for copyright violations.
My original goal with updating the entry was to fix a couple of factural errors. I am one of the project leads on Higgins. I edited the article with my real name to identity myself and authenticate the accuracy of the revised entry. - See About Us on www.socialphysics.org, which has a link to the socialphysics wiki.
Errors in original and now current text: 1) While IBM And Novell are sponsors. The project was initially sponsored by a company called Parity, so Parity should also be mentioned. (There have been misunderstandings that IBM was leading the project) 2) While some members of the press have alledged that Higgins is being intentionally promoted as an alternative to Infocards, this is not true. The Higgins team has been aggressively working to correct this misunderstanding. (See third linked press article.) 3) While Higgins supports storage of identity information on an individual's PC. It is not limited to that approach.
As one of the authors of the Higgins description, my first concerns were to insure project descripton acuracy and consistency.
One way to proceed would be for me to re-update the entry with new text that varies slighly from the published description on the wiki. Would that work from your perspective?
Mary
[edit] Copyvio (April 2006)
Text was added to this article by on 2006 March 24 MaryRuddy (talk ยท contribs) that appears to be from http://spwiki.editme.com/Higgins . I looked around for a license on the wiki, but I couldn't find one, so I assume it isn't GFDL'd and therefore was a copyright violation. I'm reverting to the last non-copyvio version (and adding my own contributions). Phoenix-forgotten 19:15, 4 April 2006 (UTC)
