[edit] Plot
Two extra chapters were released for amusement and interest. Also, the after story talk that was included in the Meakashi-hen game but was later omitted in subsequent chapters is included once again under the revised title of Batsukoishi-hen.
[edit] Saikoroshi-hen
An after story of Matsuribayashi-hen, which takes place on August 1983 in Hinamizawa. This should not be considered as a "Chapter 9" per se, but more like "The Chapter After Matsuribayashi-hen."
The main lead is Rika Furude. Rika gets into a car accident after coming home from the swimming pool with her friends. When she wakes up, she finds herself in a world that she has never been in; a perfect world where nothing went wrong. Rika at first appears happy with this, in spite of feeling that all her struggles to fix the world were useless. However, without the tragedies having happened in the past, club activities never existed, Keiichi never appeared in Hinamizawa, Satoko bullied Rika, and the friendship that the main characters shared was never forged. Rika lashes out in anger until she realizes that this was a dream sent by Hanyū.
[edit] Hirukowashi-hen
The novelization of the dōjin game Higurashi Daybreak by Twilight Frontier. The main characters are Keiichi Maebara and Rika Furude, and this story is set in a parallel world.
One day, Rena accidentally swallows something in her mouth during her usual treasure hunting. According to Rika, the seal of the sacred "Fuwarazu Magatama" pairs were broken and Rena must've accidentally swallowed one of them. The magatama holds mysterious magical powers in which a person that has the red magatama will blindly fall in love with anyone with the white magatama.
