Highly unusual method
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Highly unusual methods (also HUM) is a class of contract bridge bidding systems defined by the World Bridge Federation. Usually these are artificial systems that require advance preparation to contend with, and are hence restricted to the highest levels of tournament play. These conventions are coded with a yellow sticker, and are more regulated than brown sticker conventions.
An example of such a system would be one in which an opening pass indicates typical opening-worthy strength, i.e. 13 points.
