Highland Park Village is an upscale shopping mall located at the southwest corner of Mockingbird Lane and Preston Road in Highland Park, Texas (USA) and was the second shopping mall ever to be constructed in the United States. (The first, Country Club Plaza, was constructed in 1922 in Kansas City, Missouri.) It opened in 1931 and still remains in operation today. It was designed by American architects Marion Fresenius Fooshee and James B. Cheek, and was developed by the Henry S. Miller Company, which later became Henry S. Miller Interests.[1]
