Highland Park Lutheran Church is a congregation of the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod, located in the northeastern section of Los Angeles known as Highland Park. Founded in 1922, it is the English District's oldest church in California. It has a strong mission to reach out to the community. It has a big outreach toward the Spanish-speaking community especially. It has been recognized by community leaders as a great asset. Hard work of the pastor and congregation, with the help of law enforcement, has helped to reduce the crime rate in the surrounding areas dramatically. It is so small right now, however, that it survives primarily on the property that it owns.
