The Highland Elaenia (Elaenia obscura) is a species of bird in the Tyrannidae family, the tyrant flycatchers. It is found in Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Ecuador, Paraguay, Peru, and Uruguay.

Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests, subtropical or tropical moist montanes, subtropical or tropical moist shrubland, and heavily degraded former forest.
