High Water Rising

"High Water Rising" was written by blues singer Charley Patton. Its subject is the Great Mississippi Flood of 1927 which devastated Louisiana. Bob Dylan directly pays tribute to the song on his 2001 album Love and Theft with "High Water (For Charley Patton)."
