The High Sheriff of West Yorkshire is a current High Sheriff title for West Yorkshire, which has existed since 1974, the holder is changed anually every March.[1] Yorkshire was formerly covered by the High Sheriff of Yorkshire, but after the Local Government Act 1972 a commission decided to reform the title to the new metropolitan and non-metropolitan counties of England. This included West Yorkshire and its sheriff title. Below is a list of the sheriffs.[1]
