The High Court (also known as the Supreme Court), located between Mahabandoola Garden Street and Pansodan Street in Kyauktada Township, downtown Yangon, is the highest appeals court in Myanmar. It is located near Yangon City Hall.
The High Court is presided by justices appointed by the State Peace and Development Council. The building was completed in 1911 by architect James Ransome. The High Court is noted for its British colonial architecture, including its clock tower and its red-bricked exterior. The building faces the Independence Monument and the Mahabandoola Park.
