Higashiyatsushiro District, Yamanashi

Higashiyatsushiro (東八代郡; -gun) was a district located in Yamanashi, Japan.

As of March 2006, the district has an estimated population of 513. The total area is 37.15 km².

On the day before the district dissolved (July 31, 2006), the district had only one village left.

• Ashigawa

On August 1, 2005, the village of Ashigawa merged into the city of Fuefuki and Higashiyatsushiro District ceased to exist.

• 1878 - The district founded after the Yatsushiro District split into Higashiyatsushiro and Nishiyatsushiro Districts.
• October 12, 2004-The municipalities of Ichinomiya, Isawa, Misaka, Sakaigawa, and Yatsushiro merged with Kasugai from Higashiyamanashi District to form the city of Fuefuki.
• February 20, 2006-The village of Toyotomi merged with the towns of Tamaho and Tatomi from Nakakoma District to form the new city of Chuo.
• March 1, 2006-The town of Nakamichi merged into the city of Kofu.
• August 1, 2005-The village of Ashigawa merged into the city of Fuefuki. Higashiyatsushiro District has been dissolved.
