Higashikamo District, Aichi

Higashikamo (東加茂郡; -gun) was a district located in Northern Nishimikawa Region in Aichi Prefecture, Japan. Formed during Meiji Era by spliting Kamo District in Mikawa Province.
Population 21,227, Total area 488.24 km². (as of 2003-final population count)
As of March 31, 2005, the district had the municipalities of Asuke, Shimoyama, Asahi and Inabu, but on April 1, 2005, all municipalities within this district were merged into the city of Toyota, and the district was dissolved as a result of this merger.

- April 1, 1955 - The villages of Morioka, Kamo, and Aro merged into the town of Asuke. Parts of Sanno from Ena District, Gifu Prefecture merged into the village of Asahi.
- September 30, 1956 - Parts of the village of Shimoyama from Nukata District merged into the village of Shimoyama in Higashikamo District.
- November 1, 1961 - The village of Matsudaira gained town status.
- April 1, 1967 - The village of Asahi gained town status.
- April 1, 1970 - The town of Matsudaira merged into the city of Koromo.
- October 1, 2003 - The town of Inabu merged from the Kitashitara District to Higashikamo District.
- April 1, 2005 - The towns of Asuke, Asahi and Inabu, and the village of Shimoyama merged into the city of Toyota.
