Higa Yuchoku

Higa Yuchoku (1910–1994) was a prominent karate practitioner. He started training Shorin-ryu under his father's senior student. He continued the training until 1935, when he began training Ti and Goju-ryu under Jinan Shinzato, Chōjun Miyagi Sensei's senior student.[1] From 1945 he studied Shorin-ryu under Chōshin Chibana Sensei and became his uchi deshi. He was later promoted to Vice-President of first Shorin Ryu Karate Do Association, and in 1976 he received the rank of Jū Dan, 10th Dan.[2] He was a teacher of Yoshimitsu Onaga for a long time.
