Talk:Hieracium vulgatum
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
This is completely misleading without proper author abbreviations. There is no ambiguity, as the author abbreviation is a part of the botanical name. Colchicum (talk) 10:29, 3 May 2008 (UTC)
- And, actually, the first reference, [1], is incorrect. This page indicates that H. vulgatum has been used as a name for H. canadense, but the IPNI indicates that H. canadense Froel. = H. vulgatum. Further, the IPNI only includes nomenclatural synonyms instead of taxonomic synonyms. This means that anything listed at IPNI is only noting that the type specimen collected by that author has been identified as a different species. --Rkitko (talk) 13:45, 3 May 2008 (UTC)
