Hideko Maehata (前畑 秀子 Maehata Hideko?, May 20, 1914 in Wakayama - February 24, 1995) was a Japanese breaststroke swimmer. She won gold medal for the Women's 200 m breaststroke in the 1936 Summer Olympics, and silver medal for the Women's 200 m breaststroke in the 1932 Summer Olympics.
She was the first Japanese woman to earn a gold medal in the Olympics.
She was born in Hashimoto, northeastern Wakayama, Japan.
