Hidden Valley High School (Grants Pass, Oregon)

Hidden Valley High School is a high school located near Murphy, about five miles south of Grants Pass, Oregon, United States. The school is part of the Three Rivers School District.[1] As of February 2008, Dennis Misner is the school’s principal.

Hidden Valley primarily serves students from the Applegate Valley, the community of Williams and the south Rogue Valley area.[2] The school educates just under 900 students in grades 9-12. 89% of the students are White, 6% Hispanic, and 3% Native American.[3] In October 2007 the school was listed on a state watch list because of safety issues.[4]

19 Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) students qualified for the National FBLA competition finals, held in Denver, Colorado in July 2004.[5]In 2008, they won their 7th consecutive state title.

The school sports teams are called the Mustangs. Kelly Christensen is the athletic director.
In 2005-06 the school's boys basketball team went a record 27-1, and went on to win their first state title. Their head coach, Norm Hayter, who had taken the school to two Skyline Conference championships resigned, in controversial circumstances, in September 2006.[6] Robert Jackson is currently the men's basketball coach. The HV girls soccer program won consecutive state 1A/2A/3A/4A soccer championships in 2006 and 2007. The boys soccer team won a state title in 2000.
