Hidden Treasures is an EP by American thrash metal band Megadeth, released in 1995. It is a collection of previously released non-album tracks, including soundtrack and compilation songs. The American version of the album is currently out of print, but the Japanese version is still available as of 2006. It was also released in Europe as a special bonus CD for Youthanasia, and was re-released in Europe on April 30, 2007.

On the album cover, many of the "cities" on the map are the names of the songs that appear on the album.[1][2]

[edit] Trivia

  • "No More Mr. Nice Guy" is an Alice Cooper cover that was originally released on the Billion Dollar Babies album.
  • "99 Ways to Die" is used by MTV Europe's 120 Metal Minutes as a commercial bumper that separates some songs.
  • "Paranoid" is a Black Sabbath cover that was originally released on the Paranoid album. At the end of the song, then drummer Nick Menza carries on drumming to which Dave shouts Nick! three times. A few seconds later Nick says "Fuck me running". On the CD it is turned down very quiet, but in the studio Nick exclaimed it very loudly.
  • "Problems" is a Sex Pistols cover that was originally released on the Never Mind the Bollocks, Here's the Sex Pistols album.
  • This EP was designed by Wendy Dougan.
  • The demo version of "Symphony of Destruction" on the extended versions of the EP was also released on the reissue of Countdown to Extinction.
  • On the extended versions, "A Tout Le Monde" is listed as a radio edit, despite being identical to the album version, except with an added tambourine track in the background .
  • On the extended versions, "New World Order" is listed as a demo, the final version of the song being included on Duke Nukem: Music To Score By. The same demo version is available on the reissue of Youthanasia, in which Dave Mustaine states in the liner notes that only some guitar parts were missing from the final version, which are included in this release of the song.
  • This is the first of only three Megadeth albums where Vic Rattlehead does not appear in a physical form, the other two being Cryptic Writings and Risk; his only appearance is as a head on a Calico Jack flag on the back cover.
