Hidden & Dangerous 2 (abbreviated H&D2, HaD2 or HD2) is a tactical shooter computer game developed by Illusion Softworks and published by Gathering of Developers and Take-Two Interactive. The player takes on the role of a four man British Special Air Service (SAS) team during World War II, conducting a wide variety of operations behind enemy lines. The game is set in a number of World War II battle theaters, including everything from Burma to Norway. Unusually for a World War II game, the final mission set in Czechoslovakia during the last days of the war offers a battle with Soviet Red Army troops over German secret documents.
The game failed to win a large following in North America despite receiving well above-average reviews, partly because of the release of similar games, such as Call of Duty, and because of the many bugs that remained in the game in spite of successive, and often large, patches; a problem shared with the first game. However, the game became popular in Europe, selling millions of copies. As with Mafia, which was also developed by Illusion Softworks, the game centers around realistic gameplay and immersive environments. Weapon and vehicle physics are detailed and fairly accurate, more so than most games of similar genre during its time. For example, bullets can penetrate wooden doors and other "soft" objects.
The real problem with the game is its unstable artificial intelligence. The other three members of the squad can be best used as stationary fire power rather than for complex tactics. This problem existed since the first game of the sequel but was not sufficiently fixed in the newer ones.
The walking animations were also a point of criticism. For example, when your player turns, he will usually bend his knees in a silly way when he comes to the end of the turn.
Sabre Squadron, an expansion pack released during October of 2004, introduced 9 new single player levels, 8 new multiplayer maps, new weapons, and a co-operative multiplayer mode. Some clans have released unofficial multiplayer co-operative maps, modified from those available in the single player game.

After you've succeeded to hand them over to the Long Range Desert Group, you will continue on your own to find the Liberator wreck. After fighting several units of the Afrika Korps in a canyon, you will reach the wreck. The area is apparently heavily guarded, but you manage to get there and destroy the wreck. You have to fight against panzers, and you manage to destroy all of them before allied backup arrives.

In the final mission, you will have to save your SAS colleagues, who are to be executed. When you've saved your captured comrades, the game credits appear.
[edit] Weapons and vehicles
There are a number of different weapons in Hidden & Dangerous 2 and Sabre Squadron, which consist of a wider variety and selection versus other World War II first-person shooters. Some of these weapons are introduced out of historical chronology.
