"Hicktown" is the debut single of American country music artist Jason Aldean. The single was also Aldean's first Top 10 hit, reaching a peak of #10 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart in late 2005.
Co-written by Big & Rich, "Hicktown" is one of many country songs that boast of Southern culture and the like:
- Well you can see the neighbor's butt crack, nailing on his shingles
- And his woman’s smokin’ Pall Mall’s, watchin’ Laura Ingalls
- And Granny’s getting’ lit, she’s headin’ out to bingo
- Yeah my buddies and me are goin’ muddin’, down on Blue Hole Road
"Hicktown" has become Aldean's signature song, with souvenir vanity plates naming it sold at appearances. The song typically closes out Aldean's concert set, with elongated instrumental parts, Aldean banging on cymbals, and several false endings.
