Hibhib is a small village in northern Iraq, located 8 km (5 miles), northwest of the town of Baquba. A previous leader of Al Qaeda in Iraq, Jordanian-born militant Abu Musab al-Zarqawi maintained a safehouse in the village. He was meeting with his spiritual advisor when the house was bombed by aircraft from the U.S.-led multinational coalition force, killing him.
