From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
"Hi Ho Silver Lining" is an iconic 1960s rock song, written by Scott English (born 10. Jan 1943 in Brooklyn, New York) and Larry Weiss, first released as a single in March 1967 by The Attack and a few days later by Jeff Beck[1], whilst Jeff Beck's version charted. It has been re-recorded many times (most recently in 2006) and retains its popularity on the dance-floor despite not being a big hit at the time of its original release, failing to even make the top 10 on the UK singles chart.
Other recorded versions exist by Black Lace, Slade, Hello. It is also used at football matches most notably by Sheffield Wednesday, Aston Villa, Bristol Rovers and Wolverhampton Wanderers who replace the words 'silver lining' to their team names respectively.
