Hi-5 (South African band)

Hi-5 are a boy band from Pretoria,South Africa, most notable outside their home country for recording Afrikaans covers of Eurovision Song Contest entries. Among these are Daai Liedje (Through My Window), Die Twist (Twist Of Love) `n Ewigheid (Invincible) and Vergewe My Weer (I Do). The current line up is Wynand Buitendag, Lee Scott, Renee Kruger, Nicolaas Swart and Niel Schoombee.

Their most recent album, Versoeking was released in 2006. The first single titled Versoeking helped the band to further cement their success on the South African music charts. One noteworthy point is Kruger's powerful voice during the bridges of the song. Furthermore, Buitendag takes the lead, and demonstrates his charisma in the music video that's set in a nightclub.

In April 2007, Hi-5 had passive success in Europe for 6 months on an international contract with the resort, Sonamor in Majorca, Spain. Since then, Hi-5 have showcased Afrikaans music in other parts of Europe. The band has since returned to South Africa where they are currently working on a new album and touring South Africa.
