[edit] Additions of http://.stattrek.com
Please do not add advertising or inappropriate external links to Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not a mere directory of links nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that exist to attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam policies for further explanations of links that are considered appropriate. If you feel the link should be added to the article, then please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. See the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. [edit] Question to Hu12 about recent additions
Sorry about the problem I caused by adding inappropriate external links. I read the material you referenced; but I am still unclear as to why the links I tried to add were inappropriate, since they all seemed to be relevant to the topic.
The links I added were in a format similar to the text below (which I tried to add to the "Histogram" topic).
Are those links inappropriate because they include an explicit reference to StatTrek web site (shown above in parentheses)? If the explicit reference to StatTrek (shown above in parentheses) were removed, would the external link be considered appropriate?
I appreciate you clarifying this for me.
Thank you.
