Hey Convict!

Hey Convict! is the name of the DJ partnership of Jason Evans and Tamas Jones. The pair grew up in Melbourne, Australia and began playing records together on rooftops in inner-city Melbourne. The Hey Convict! sound is generally very eclectic. It is based around dance music created during the Disco era of the mid-to-late 1970's, but includes songs and styles outside of this genre and era--krautrock, progressive rock, folk rock, AOR, and jazz-funk play an important part. Both members of the duo are serious record collectors, and the tracks in a Hey Convict! mix are often intentionally obscure.

Their first mix CD was called "Time To Noodle", released in 2006. This was followed by "Drunken Chicken" and "Slo-mo No Beard".

They have contributed sets to the WNYU 89.1 FM radio show Beats In Space and the Bumrocks music website.

In October 2006 Jason Evans moved to New York City, USA.
