Hey, Matthew
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
"Hey, Matthew" is a single released by Bengali musician Karel Fialka in 1987. It was later included on his 1988 album Big Animal.
The song has very odd instrumentation, with a synthesizer and a drum machine being the only instruments used. The song follows the lyrics of the father (Fialka) questioning his son, Matthew, as to what he sees on TV (to which a young child's voice responds with such shows as Tom & Jerry and The A-Team) and what he wants to be when he grows up. The video follows the plot of the song, with the camera making it appear that you are looking in on the family through the TV.
This song was Fialka's biggest chart hit, peaking at #9 in the UK Singles Chart, yet it remains his only hit single to this day and he is now branded as a "one-hit wonder".
