Fact warning
Please do not deliberately introduce incorrect information into articles, as you did to Mortal Kombat: Devastation. It is considered vandalism. If you would like to experiment, use the sandbox. Thank you.
I've tried hard to make sure that Mortal Kombat: Devastation doesn't contain any unsourced information. Please don't restore old versions again. EVula 21:03, 31 August 2006 (UTC)
Second warning
Please stop. If you continue to vandalize pages by deliberately introducing incorrect information, as you did to Mortal Kombat: Devastation, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia.
Your recent edit[1] of Mortal Kombat: Devastation overwrote perfectly valid (and verified) information that I had written. You also improperly flagged the article as protected, which it is not. Worst of all, you introduced false information into the article: Rumor 2 (that the movie is based off the latest MK games) provides a source, but the source says absolutely nothing at all to back up your claims.
Stop vandalizing pages on Wikipedia. EVula 16:18, 20 September 2006 (UTC)
- Excuse me? I'm not spreading false information. I'm just making sure people realize that 99% of the information here are rumors posted by fans.
- You mentioned that rumor #2 didn't have the correct source, maybe I wasn't specific enough with the url: http://themoviecenter.wordpress.com/2006/06/09/a-legend-of-cinema/
- As for me flagging the article as protected, that was a copy/paste mistake (sorry). But I didn't post any false information. I'm just explaining that they are nothing but rumors, otherwise people will take them as confirmed, which they're not. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Wesborland (talk • contribs)
-
- You are providing no sources for almost any of your claims; the one claim that you do provide a source doesn't say what you're quoting. Please re-read the source you give for Rumor #2 ("This movie is going to be based on the games Mortal Kombat: Deception and Mortal Kombat: Armageddon, the final scene of the movie will be re-written after the release of the last game mentioned") and find where exactly it says that. It doesn't. That's why I stated that you're introducing false information into the article, because you're making a claim that is patently untrue.
-
- Also, everything that I wrote (and cited the source for) is specifically stated to be a rumor; specifically, it says "rumor" five times. The only thing that doesn't present itself as a rumor is the Robin Shou bit; due to your complaint, however, I'll rewrite it to be more clear that it is a possibly unsourced rumor.
-
- And, finally, if you are going to add to the article, first and foremost, do not remove the citations that are there. Even when I reverted your edit, I kept the sole source you provided and worked it into the article (using it as the source for two different claims; Labert's involvement in the project, and that Universal Pictures is distributing the film).
-
- You've been warned several times, both in edit summaries and in actual talk page warnings. Continued unsourced edits will be treated as vandalism and reverted on-sight as such. EVula 04:10, 21 September 2006 (UTC)
Question 3, lines 5 and 6. That being said, it's not false information and therefore it should be in the article.
- "The script is actually pretty good, but it’s going to be re-written after the last game is released"
- That is not the same as "This movie is going to be based on the games Mortal Kombat: Deception and Mortal Kombat: Armageddon". False information. EVula 05:25, 21 September 2006 (UTC)
-
- That's where the rumor was born. (and by the way, Armageddon IS the last game of the saga at the moment). I specifically wrote that it's just a rumor, therefore it's not false information, I never said it was confirmed (the same could be said about the other two rumors).
-
-
- "This movie is going to be based on the games Mortal Kombat: Deception and Mortal Kombat: Armageddon, the final scene of the movie will be re-written after the release of the last game mentioned".
- Nowhere in the quoted page is that even suggested. I quoted both what you've written and what was actually written in the article; the two don't match up at all. EVula 03:44, 22 September 2006 (UTC)

- Then again, this is a pretty strong rumor and even if it might not be true, it belongs in this article. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Wesborland (talk • contribs)

-
- I have no problem with rumors in the article... if they are sourced. The rumor that Devastation is based on the last two MK games has absolutely no source, and is not verifiable. Because it is not verifiable, it is in violation of Wikipedia policy and I have, in turn, been removing it. On top of that, you've been removing information on another rumor that does have a source (not to mention reverting over a wording change that I made, indicating that you're blindly reverting without considering the merits of the article's current state).
-
-
-
-

-
- I will continue reverting your edits unless you begin properly citing your sources and stop removing viable information from the article (if you want help on how to properly cite a source, I'd be happy to help). EVula 17:10, 22 September 2006 (UTC)

- You see, MK Armageddon IS the last game. Every MK game tells how the story of the previous game ended (The first movie is based on MK1 and 2, the second movie is based on MK3 and 4).
- In other words, we don't know the actual ending of a MK game until the next game is released. Therefore, if Lambert says the script is going to be re-written after the last game is released (rather than saying that they are going to use a completely different script) and since every MK movie is based on 2 games, it makes sense that what he meant is that the movie is going to be based on that game (Armageddon) and the previous one (aka Mortal Kombat Deception). I will, however, change the part that says "the last scene is going to be re-written" since the rumor is not that specific.
- If a rumor had a 100% reliable source, then it wouldn't be a rumor, it'd be a fact.
- Believe or not, (almost) every fan believes ONE of those rumors (including this one) and explaining that they are only rumors will stop them from endlessly quoting wikipedia and taking such information as absolute truth. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Wesborland (talk • contribs)

- I understand that Armageddon is the last game. However, you're making an assumption on what is implied by the quote, which constitutes original research (and is a breach of Wikipedia policy). I, for one, am not reading it as definitively stating that the movie will be based on the game(s); they might just be rewriting it so that it doesn't include characters that were killed off, or to introduce some characters in a manner consistent with the game, but still not follow the plot exactly.

- The fact that fans believe one of those rumors is irrelevant; Wikipedia's policies on content are more important than what fanboys believe. Not only that, but everything is already stated to be a rumor, quite clearly so, and done so in a better manner; your giant bold sentences are of an unencyclopedic tone, and therefore keep getting removed. - Please stop your continued edits to Mortal Kombat: Devastation. You aren't addressing any of my notes about what is wrong with your edits, and are just blindly reverting. Another user has even reverted your edits. Please, just stop (or actually discuss your edits before making them). At this point, you've been reverted 11 times. EVula 17:56, 23 September 2006 (UTC)
-
- I have tried several times to explain why Lambert's words imply directly what the movie is going to be about: even if the slightest part of the plot covers something from the storyline of MK Armageddon (even if it doesn't follow the plot exactly, like you said), then it MUST cover the story of MK Deception first. Plus, there aren't too many options anyway, the storylines of the other games have already been covered by the previous movies.
- I understand that he might not be explicit, but what he said is clear enough not to be considered original research.
- Up to this moment, this is the only source this rumor could be traced down to (other sources have been quoted, but I haven't found links to them so far). Wesborland 10:55, 24 September 2006 (UTC)
- If it isn't explicit, it is original research. Not too much leeway in this. The storylines from the other games have not been covered; at the most, the games up to Mortal Kombat 3 have been covered; that leaves three major games (MK4, Deadly Alliance, and Deception) whose storyline could be used.
- At any rate, I've cleaned up your recent edit. Hopefully this will be the end of this stupid edit war. EVula 16:55, 24 September 2006 (UTC)
- Indeed, I only did a minor grammar edit, but I like it now.
- Peace
- Nick Wesborland 17:33, 24 September 2006 (UTC)
- D'oh! Good catch. Now we can just sit back and hope that the movie actually happens, and is a hell of a lot better than the second one! ;-) EVula 18:05, 24 September 2006 (UTC)

Article
You didnot work your ass off, you simply copied it from official website and inserted couple wikilinks to make it look better. See WP:CSD#General_criteria #12. Renata 22:43, 28 October 2006 (UTC)
- The information was not copyright protected, it's not fair. How am I supposed to write an article from scratch if I can't quote sources? Wesborland 22:54, 28 October 2006 (UTC)
- The website at the bottom says "Copyright © 2006 PODER LEGISLATIVO" You are supposed to re-word and re-phrase what you find on such sites and not copy & paste everything word for word. Also, you are supposed to use multiple sources and not just one website. Renata 01:50, 29 October 2006 (UTC)
License tagging for Image:Plaza-Independencia.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Plaza-Independencia.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 23:13, 30 October 2006 (UTC)
A question about pictures you uploaded
Hi, I saw you uploaded a couple of nice pictures which are, in my opinion, a great contribution to Uruguayan articles here at Wikipedia, and while I consider their quality to be remarkable, I still have my doubts about them. I wonder if you actually did take those pictures, and in case you did, why you didn't choose to upload a higher resolution version of both of them. In case they are actually copyrighted, it would be much better to upload non copyrighted ones, or at least change their tags to reflect their real situation. Jordevi 02:33, 31 October 2006 (UTC)
- Please be more specific. I am heavily involved with the project and I have uploaded several pictures lately. I didn't take any of them, though, but they are not copyright-protected as far as I'm concerned. Wesborland 02:39, 31 October 2006 (UTC)
- Well, there's no need to do that, if you say you didn't take them. In any case, you'd better change their tag. Jordevi 02:45, 31 October 2006 (UTC)

I see you started it out a bit already. I'm in uni, so I was going to wait until this weekend when I had free time to get started on that. So, probably on Sunday I'll finish with what ever there is left to put on there. Bye.--Jersey Devil 01:42, 1 November 2006 (UTC)
Portal Yorugua
Hi, and thanks for the invitation. I'm currently quite busy watching Argentina-related articles, plus I'm going through the traumatic experience of moving-out, so I don't have much time left for Uruguay. Uruguay
Hi, can I write in spanish here, I dont know, I am beginning to participate in Wikipedia in spanish as I am uruguayan as you are. That is why I ocasionally enter in the pages in English to compare or to correct the spanish version. I don't have much time to do both. English and spanish, but perhaps I do something without entering officialy in the group. --Beaire 17:05, 7 November 2006 (UTC)
- You can. Although if you have any doubts about a user's nationality I suggest you write in English (same goes for projects, there might be users that speak different languages there). If interested, you can join the project and I can help you with yoru contributions if you have any problems with the translation.

Cats and Dogs Portals
Hi, Wesborland. If you can offer some tips on the respective portal talk pages about how to improve Cats and Dogs up to "featured" quality, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Rfrisbietalk 17:52, 8 November 2006 (UTC)

Hi partner and country fellow! How do you do? I noticed you were asking other users to join the Uruguay-related articles project. Unfortunately I'm busy and trying to arrange my time in order to study and prepare for my exams at College. Anyway, if you like to, you can have a look at my user page in "wikipedia en español". As you would see, my interests are fully concerned with Uruguayan geography, literature, and some other stuff. I've also transalted some articles into English, but there is nothing else I can do by the moment. Well, I gotta go now. Nice to meet or, at least, to talk to you. Greetings, --Gustave - May I help you? 00:14, 15 November 2006 (UTC) P.S: ¡Vamos arriba los manyas! :P

Rubén Rada
Hi Wesborland - would you consider reverting that change to the Rubén Rada page, about the accents? A while back I went to Rada's official site to see whether he himself uses an accent or not, and found that he doesn't when his name is written in all caps, but does include the accent in sentence case writing. check it out: www.rada.com.uy, and click on Historia. Thanks, 21:55, 12 December 2006 (UTC)
- My mistake, I'll revert the edit and just make Ruben Rada a redirection page. --Wesborland 23:38, 12 December 2006 (UTC)

Uruguayan-president-stub
Hi - this stub type of your creation has been listed at WP:WSS/D, as it was never proposed for creation with the WikiProject Stub sorting. All new stub types should be debated first at WP:WSS/P, to ensure that there are the required number of stubs and that the stub types conform to standard naming and hierarchy. in the case of this stub, it is unlikely that there would be the required number of astubs for this to be a viable type, and the naming of the template doesn't conform to standard naming. Please make any comments regarding this template under the appropriate heading at WP:WSS/D. Uruguay-celeb-stub has already been listed there, BTW - and Uruguayan-polit-stub has been taken straight to WP:SFD for renaming. Please, in future, if you wish to create stub types, propose them first! Grutness...wha? 06:12, 18 December 2006 (UTC)
- My mistake, I didn't know that stub templates had to be discussed. There are currently a lot of stubs about those subjects, so I should get to the WSS discussion page and suggest to keep them, even if they are renamed. --Wesborland 14:33, 18 December 2006 (UTC)

Evita article
If you place a NPOV tag on that article, please discuss WHY on the Talk page.
Now that I have visited your page, I think I understand the problem. Are you from Uruguay? If so, then you speak English as a second language. Perhaps this is why you didn't realize that your English was not very good on that page. You also inserted sentences that were not well written, from sources that are flimsy at best. And at that you didn't even cite them properly. At any rate, I have left that page because I'm tired of the bickering. Andrew Parodi 09:10, 23 December 2006 (UTC)
