Hetman (Czech: hejtman) is the official title of the highest representative of a Czech Region, the highest administrative unit into which the Czech Republic is divided. In past, the title hetman was used for various posts, either military or administrative. When the new regions were being created, a name for the highest representative was needed and the title hetman was chosen as it was a word not being used at any context at that time.
