[edit] Battle Angel Alita & Battle Angel Alita: Last Order characters - 1 big list or 2 seperate ones?

I have been puzzling for some time now as to how to add the Last Order characters in - into the existing list of BAA characters or have them in their own list of Last Order characters, but this second option seems somewhat unnecessary to me. They're somewhat similar to Naruto and Naruto Shippuden in that characters who appeared in the first manga series don't appear in the second one and vice versa, while a few appear in both, but most BAA characters didn't migrate over to Last Order. Now while this has been handled well with Naruto and Shippuden by adding characters to existing articles or lists, BAA and Last Order lack the same degree of article coverage. What both series lacks is a lot of background infrastructure so to speak (e.g. articles on Tiphares or the Scrapyard) that would allow these characters to be merged into them. I started on a draft of one for the ZOTT but haven't touched it in a bit. What are your thoughts? BrokenSphereMsg me 05:49, 2 September 2007 (UTC)

BAA and Last Order are different enough to warrant two lists, IMO. We don't have space constraints and it's easy to copy and paste or link characters between the lists. That would make better, more comprehensive lists with less clutter of irrelevant characters. HertzaHaeon 15:34, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
OK. If need be elements of the lists can always be taken out and merged into other articles as they develop. I did this to the Barjack and motorball characters when I set up articles for those. BTW in case you didn't know, there is a push among certain editors to not have fair use images in "list of" type articles for characters. I've pulled many of the minor ones I u/l in some of the articles like motorball-affiliated charas and the main list of BAA charas, but I've also limited their use on Barjack, for example. So just a heads up that if a list of Last Order characters is set up, it will likely not have character pics on there unless the chara is branched off into their own article. BrokenSphereMsg me 18:10, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
Sounds good. Specific character articles would be a good place to put information that spans both BAA and Last Order, btw. HertzaHaeon 18:53, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
That doesn't apply to that many topics: Scrapyard, Tiphares, Desty Nova, Alita (already covered), unless I missed some. BrokenSphereMsg me 22:47, 2 September 2007 (UTC)

I've started List of Characters in Battle Angel Alita: Last Order now. It's just structure so far. I thought that every named character could at least get a mention. HertzaHaeon 20:02, 3 September 2007 (UTC)

Alright. Deckman 100 is a Tiphares resident? Maybe under other characters, since he would have come from the Scrapyard, but wouldn't really be a "resident" in that sense. For people like Gelda, Erica and Tzyk, they have their entries on Panzer Kunst, so see also can be used for them, and for those with their own articles like Alita and Koyomi, that can be used. The Type-V mutants have their own page too. BrokenSphereMsg me 20:06, 3 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use disputed for Image:Hoshi wo katta hi.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Hoshi wo katta hi.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 04:47, 16 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Zenith of Things Tournament - timing

I'm wondering what your take on this since the manga seems to contradict itself re. how often the ZOTT is held. The supplement at the end of Vol. 4 or so mentions every 10 years, and Mbadi says that Ping tried to hack into Melchizedek around the time of the first tournament, which would be 100 years ago. At the start of the tournament it is also mentioned that this is the 10th Annual ZOTT. However the use of the term annual to describe an event that takes place every 10 years is confusing, this isn't helped in Vol. 5 when Caerula tells Saya that the losers have to wait another year. BrokenSphereMsg me 21:03, 12 October 2007 (UTC)

It could maybe be a mistranslation or simple mistake from Yukito Kishiro? For example, "another year" could mean another year as in not this year. It doesn't seem like such a grave error, if it is one. There's enough support to say that ZOTT is decennial for now, IMHO. HertzaHaeon 18:40, 14 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] BAA wiki

I found this yesterday which is still in a very basic phase, more of an outline than anything else. BrokenSphereMsg me 16:36, 13 November 2007 (UTC)
