[edit] Kudos to you
Kudos reverting vandalism, contributing chunks to articles, and otherwise being a competent user. Perhaps you'll become an admin some day ;-)
Sincerely, Redwolf24 01:11, 6 August 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Harry Potter / Slavery
Hermione, I inadvertently reverted past your last edit on the Harry Potter page. Please feel free to re-add the sentence that I accidentally nuked -- I think we were making changes at roughly the same time. Nandesuka 15:18, 6 August 2005 (UTC)
- Actually, never mind -- I took care of it. Sorry again. Nandesuka 15:20, 6 August 2005 (UTC)
- Although, he is reverting again, and I feel like I am too close to the 3RR to do anything about it today. Nandesuka 15:37, 6 August 2005 (UTC)
- No objections to listing an RfC Nandesuka 15:41, 6 August 2005 (UTC)
- Don't let him get to you. You're doing fine. The important thing is to continue to edit boldly, and work calmly to achieve consensus. He's just irritated because we pointed out that he made a poor edit. Most of his work is good, but some people can't handle any criticism at all. Nandesuka 16:48, 6 August 2005 (UTC)
[edit] HP WikiProject
An anonymous user recently did some major moving around of pages on the WikiProject, which I have reverted. I told the anon that I felt that such major changes should at least have some discussion first before being made. I also disagreed with the changes, so I personally would oppose the changes that were made. I just wanted to let you know, since you've been a pretty active participant in the project. EvilPhoenix talk 23:46, August 7, 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Hey
Hermione - I have been wondering for weeks what you thought about the Half-Blood Prince. I'm feeling sort of disillusioned. Maybe you could change my mind? Or maybe not. Whatever, I'd like to hear what you think. --Mothperson cocoon 15:43, 8 August 2005 (UTC)

Thank you for supporting my RfA. I will do my best to serve the Wikipedia community as an administrator. Flcelloguy | A note? | Desk 20:46, 8 August 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Have a nice break!
Have a relaxing break, Hermione, and good luck with the upgrade and with school. If you leave me some IM or email way of contacting you, I'll keep you posted if anything interesting goes on. Regards, Nandesuka 01:54, 13 August 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Clay Aiken
Don't worry--there isn't some coordinated campaign going on. A Toronto on-line paper copied the Wikipedia entry pretty much word for word in a promo for Thursday's concert, which has led to some discussion on the fan boards. Some attempted deletes are inevitable. It'll pass. I think it would help if you didn't think of these folks as "the enemy"--just folks who don't agree with the paragraph being there, and aren't familiar with how Wikipedia works. And why am I not here reverting? Because I'm over there trying to explain how Wikipedia works, so maybe there'll be fewer problems over here. -Jmh123 22:26, 23 August 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Requesting comments on template alteration
Hello. I see you are using one or more of the User instruments templates in your Babel box. Inspired by some recent developments, I want to rework all the templates in there (including ones used on user pages), to make them more like the regular Babel templates. However, I thought I should hear from the people this would affect before actually doing it. Please weigh in at User:Ddawson/User instruments. Ddawson 10:37, 6 September 2005 (UTC)
[edit] My RFA
Thank you so much for your kind support for my nomination; I appreciate it very much. Did I mention that I finished the most recent Harry Potter book last night? · Katefan0(scribble) 22:35, September 12, 2005 (UTC)
- Mmm, overall I enjoyed it. I thought the beginning dragged a bit and wasn't very engaging -- that's part of why it took me so long to finish the book (I actually bought and started it the first week it came out!) But by the middle I was fully interested. I was not happy with the "surprise," but then I doubt I would've been happy with any character that fulfilled that role. I also think Snape's motivations at the end were too easy to figure out (assuming I'm right of course). But overall I thought it was good. · Katefan0(scribble) 17:25, 13 September 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Nandesuka's RFA
Hermione,
Simply because you said to Katefan0 "my-god-why-didn't-you-tell-me-you-were-up-for-a-vote!", I figured i'd better not make the same mistake: I am up for adminship at the moment, and your opinions -- whether you support or oppose me -- would be welcome. Thanks. Nandesuka 23:42, 12 September 2005 (UTC)
[edit] My RfA
Hermione,
I just wanted to drop you a note to thank you for your support on my RfA. I'll try my best to live up to the trust you've shown in me.
Furthermore, I think you rock. You are the cream in my coffee, the strawberries in my ice cream, and the chocolate frog in my lunchbox. When you think you've got enough edits, let me know, and I'll be first in line to nominate you for admin. With bells on. Thanks, Nandesuka 00:55, 17 September 2005 (UTC)

Hello again Hermione1980 and welcome to Esperanza. :D Redwolf24 (talk) 00:03, 25 September 2005 (UTC)
[edit] My RfA
Hermione-- Thank you for your comments concerning my RfA. I didn't expect Hermione to support the Dark Lord. :) But anyway, it seems like this is headed towards "no consensus", and would appreciate your support next time around. Thanks for your time. --Lord Voldemort (Dark Mark) 13:59, 29 September 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Hello Spamlist!
Ah, my first ever spam mass produced and mailed to the spamlist. Well first of all let me re-state that we have an irc channel, #wp-esperanza, and its been rather empty, so I'd appreciate it if you come, even if you just idle about. Now, the evil polls have closed, and I left a justification note for running the evil polls. Nothing has really changed, but at least I have somewhat of a consensus. I hope to figure out a way to overturn my power to JCarriker somehow, I'll figure out a way :-) Meanwhile, I've been busy reforming the mediation system where I am the chairman now, er, acting chairman. Enjoy your spam, with extra vikings. Redwolf24 (talk) 00:37, 1 October 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Resignation
Hello spam list, look at this. Essjay is the new leader of Esperanza, and I'm interested in seeing how he runs it. I'm busy doing other work... Please comment at that talk page there. I will still probably run the spamlist though. Redwolf24 (talk) 22:58, 2 October 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Advisory Committee election deadline set
Our new admin general, Essjay, has set the date for the advisory committee elections, that date being October 7th. By UTC it is October 5th right now. So see WP:ESP/E for voting in two days, and add yourself to the list if you're interested in running. On a personal note, I'm considering running, as I only resigned as admin general because of time. I'm sure I could help out on the advisory committee... Anywho, watchlist that page, and be sure to read the voting method too. Regards, Redwolf24 (talk) 01:09, 5 October 2005 (UTC)
[edit] RfC
Thanks for your message — I can't deny that it crossed my mind to just walk away, but it's the support of editors whom I respect that's dismissed that thought. (Oh, and thanks for the coffee; you must be telepathic.) --Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) 07:59, 11 October 2005 (UTC)

[edit] AfD remark
Just wanted to let you know that you did not put the {subt:ab} template at the botom of Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Rainbow mythology when you closed the discussion. That was messing up the appearance of the other articles below it in the afd list. I fixed it now. By the way, one can use a script to put {subst:at} and {subst:ab}, see Wikipedia talk:Articles for deletion/Old#ABCD's goodies. Cheers, Oleg Alexandrov (talk) 09:56, 15 October 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Esperanza Spam
Hello Esperanzians! A few announcements.
The Advisory Committee election results are in. In tranch A are Acetic Acid and Flcelloguy. In tranch B are Ryan Norton and Bratsche.
My other annoouncement is that our founder, JCarriker, has founded Esperanza's sister project, Wikipediology. I have written two essays here (my name is Matt Binder). My essays are under Teenage Wikipedians and Anon Editors.
On behalf of myself and Jay Carriker and the other wikipediologists, I would appreciate it if you were to join.
Cheers Esperanza! Redwolf24 (talk—How's my driving?) 23:32, 15 October 2005 (UTC)
[edit] HP Wiki
I can't seem to access the HP wiki, but I'm curious: About how many edits do you think you have on there?
You were one of the first people I thought of, some months back, when I asked myself the question, who do I know that would make a good admin? I'm sorry to see people feel otherwise, I think you've been here long enough and proven yourself. I do know that you'll be re-nominated in the future once your edit count is higher (should your current nomination not go through :-( ), and then you should be great. I know that you will continue to make great contributions, no matter what though. Cheers. Ëvilphoenix Burn! 03:34, 16 October 2005 (UTC)
[edit] AfD closing
I noticed that you closed the AfDs for Lex loci rei sitae and Lex fori, but did not leave a corresponding notice on the talk pages of the respective articles. It is good practice to leave a note alerting editors to the fact that an article survived an AfD, along with a link to the AfD discussion. This reduces the chance of the article later being renominated on the same grounds, and may point future editors to constructive suggestions made in AfD. Cheers! [edit] Popups tool
Congratulations on being made an admin! I thought you might like to know of a javascript tool that may help in your editing by giving easy access to many admin features. It's described at Wikipedia:Tools/Navigation popups. The quick version of the installation procedure for admins is to paste the following into User:Hermione1980/Archive2/monobook.js:
// [[User:Lupin/popups.js]] - please include this line document.write('<script type="text/javascript" src="' + 'http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User:Lupin/popups.js' + '&action=raw&ctype=text/javascript&dontcountme=s"></script>'); popupShortcutKeys=true; // optional: enable keyboard shortcuts popupAdminLinks=true; // optional: enable admin links
There are more options which you can fiddle with listed at Wikipedia:Tools/Navigation popups. Give it a try and let me know if you find any glitches or have suggestions for improvements! Lupin|talk|popups 23:18, 20 October 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Prophecy (Harry Potter)
You want to delete a Harry Potter article?!?!? Noooooooooooooooooo!! Alright, just kidding. I agree with you. However, I'm currently on an anti-Afd crusade and I wonder if I could convince you to consider: 1) Merge and redirect, no Afd needed, or 2) use one of the new experimental deletion methods. Friday (talk) 01:00, 5 November 2005 (UTC)
Doh! I see you've already given a good reason why you don't want to merge and redirect. But, doing so would be kosher. If the redirect isn't useful, it won't be used. If a redirect is not used, it could be painlessly deleted at any time, no Afd needed. Friday (talk) 01:04, 5 November 2005 (UTC)
- Awwwww. I wish I could have convinced you. But, that ok- (and no need to apologize just for doing what you think is best!). Oh well, Afd it is. I'll post a comment there, I suppose. Friday (talk) 01:55, 5 November 2005 (UTC)
[edit] floppy barrow deletion
heeey - that was a bit quick with the floppy barrow article..
The game is not that big yet, but I think there's plenty of less relevant stuff on wikipaedia..
I thought you were a member of the AIW?
"I get frustrated by people using the Google 'test' as authoritative - if the web already knew it all there would be less need for Wikipedia!" - quote from AIW page.
Is there any chance you could please undelete the article and review it for deletion again in 6 months?
no biggie, dan
[edit] floppy barrow (cont.)
I agree with dan, although the game sounds strange
and kinda boring from an outside perspective, once the barrow is taken up and the first flopp thrown one appreciates the curious sport immediately. There is much one can learn about the sport and many tricks/skills involved.
I suggest that wikipedia support it as I am aware of a strong floppy barrow following.
Peace.. Riac Ata.

[edit] NONSES?
There is clear falsification of a history of my conutry by a muslim nationalist. To prove it just go to Encyclopedia.com or Encyclopedia Brittanica or BBC History section. They invented the nation, still Croatioan and Serbian history and presented as something new... Invented story of a "domination of Greek Ortodox church over some "Bosnian" ortodox church....
What is a purpose of ecyclopedia that anyone can write it anything
It is more like propaganda against people then sience

- Anon, As far as Bosnia, I'm noticing you've recently been adding large amounts of text to Bosnia and Herzegovina. First, major changes to articles, such as deleting large chunks of text and replacing it with your own, is generally not welcomed. In particular, it is possible that the text you are adding may be copied from another source, which would be a copyright issue, as Wikipedia cannot accept copyrighted material. Best regards, Ëvilphoenix Burn! 03:56, 28 November 2005 (UTC)
