Unfortunately, Hermione1980 has retired as a Wikipedia editor. Best wishes and good luck!

If you're here to ask me to come back to the project, save your keystrokes. I've been grounded for the rest of the summer. No WP, no email, no nothing. I shouldn't even be posting this, which is why I'm not logged in. Anyway, I shan't be back on until late August, but I'm not leaving. Hermione1980 posting as 72.152.11.136 23:13, 10 May 2006 (UTC)

(copied from the Harry Potter Wiki, sorry about the duplication) Erm...in case you haven't been able to tell, I'm on a long-term Wikibreak. I certainly will not be back until the end of August, and possibly not even then. I've discovered (perhaps unfortunately) that my productivity level in real life was severely affected by my involvement with both the Harry Potter Wiki and Wikipedia, and I really am happier with what I can accomplish with that extra time. Please accept my apologies and know that when I'm not quite as busy, I'll be back. Hermione1980 (not logged in) (168.30.196.65 17:06, 13 June 2006 (UTC))

Where have you gone? Please don't tell me you're leaving forever, you have always struck me as one of our best and most sensible editors. the wub "?!" 21:25, 8 May 2006 (UTC)

My sentiments exactly, you'll be missed. Glad it's not permanent. Got a little worried when you poofed with no explanation. Enjoy your summer and come back with stories :p — nathanrdotcom (Got something to say? Say it.) 02:55, 9 May 2006 (UTC)

Say it isn't so, fair Hermione! :( You've been one Wikipedia's wisest and kindest editors from my first day editing here, and I do hope that you'll reconsider after a wiki-break. If it helps, I'll wiki wifflebat anything causing you stress. ;) Best wishes always, Xoloz 19:13, 9 May 2006 (UTC)

We will all miss you, you are valued by the Wikipedia community and Esperanzians. Please don't leave, you are a great user during your stay here. Do come back someday. All the best. --Terence Ong 11:01, 10 May 2006 (UTC)

I hope this shall be a short but pleasant wikibreak, and that you return soon :) — Garykirk | talk! 12:55, 10 May 2006 12:55, 10 May 2006 (UTC)

That's good to know. I'm technically on a semi-Wikibreak myself, but I'm glad to see you're still devoted to the project, even if your parents (?) aren't. Take care, and hope to see you back, nice and refreshed! --Deathphoenix ʕ 19:53, 12 May 2006 (UTC)

How can you be a student still? I had every impression you were born in 1980! :) Ashibaka tock 00:48, 16 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Ongoing attempts to delete articles related to Guantanamo detainees.

Greetings!

I have been one of main wikipedia contributors working on improving the wikipedia's coverage of issues related to Guantaantmo detainees.

I am trying to clean up some anomalies in the dozen or so previous nominations for deletion that have been filed so far. For two of the discussions the administrators who closed them said that the results had been "no consensus" even though a majority of those voting had voted keep.

I was under the impression that the if an absolute majority of the votes were for keep the result should be recorded as keep.

One of those administrators added editorial comments about the discussion's results when they adjudicated and closed the disucssion for another Guantanamo article.

I would prefer if the administrators who closed the discussions to nominate articles for deletion.not only counted the votes in a manner consistent with policy, but presented the appearance of impartiality.

There is the old aphorism, which I am going to paraphrase as "never attribut to malice that which can be explained by, er, um, a simple mistake."

When you closed Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Jamil al Banna the normal afd vote result summary didn't make it onto User Talk:Jamil al Banna. I saw that you are on a leave of abscence. This is a very trivial thing, sompared with the other administrators editorializing. But I would like to clean up all the anomalies. When you are back from your leave of absence, would you mind looking into whether that result note could be added? Thanks. I'd appreciate that. And, if you don't think a retroactive note is a good idea, could you drop me a note? Thanks. No rush.

If you are interested in looking into history of the deletion, when you come back from your leave of absence, feel free to take a boo at User:Geo Swan/working/Guantanamo related articles which have been nominated for deletion.

Cheers! -- Geo Swan 08:30, 27 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Is she ever coming back?

I hope so. But it's been over five months since her last logged-in contribution :(. She's still on my userpage though :D. — Gary Kirk // talk! 15:36, 31 October 2006 (UTC)

Sorry, it looks like she's left forever. Greatly missed. --MacMad (talk · contribs)  17:31, 20 September 2007 (UTC)
