(copied from the Harry Potter Wiki, sorry about the duplication) Erm...in case you haven't been able to tell, I'm on a long-term Wikibreak. I certainly will not be back until the end of August, and possibly not even then. I've discovered (perhaps unfortunately) that my productivity level in real life was severely affected by my involvement with both the Harry Potter Wiki and Wikipedia, and I really am happier with what I can accomplish with that extra time. I have been one of main wikipedia contributors working on improving the wikipedia's coverage of issues related to Guantaantmo detainees.

I am trying to clean up some anomalies in the dozen or so previous nominations for deletion that have been filed so far. For two of the discussions the administrators who closed them said that the results had been "no consensus" even though a majority of those voting had voted keep.

I was under the impression that the if an absolute majority of the votes were for keep the result should be recorded as keep.

One of those administrators added editorial comments about the discussion's results when they adjudicated and closed the disucssion for another Guantanamo article.

I would prefer if the administrators who closed the discussions to nominate articles for deletion.not only counted the votes in a manner consistent with policy, but presented the appearance of impartiality.

There is the old aphorism, which I am going to paraphrase as "never attribut to malice that which can be explained by, er, um, a simple mistake."

When you closed Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Jamil al Banna the normal afd vote result summary didn't make it onto User Talk:Jamil al Banna. I saw that you are on a leave of abscence. This is a very trivial thing, sompared with the other administrators editorializing. But I would like to clean up all the anomalies. When you are back from your leave of absence, would you mind looking into whether that result note could be added? Thanks. I'd appreciate that. And, if you don't think a retroactive note is a good idea, could you drop me a note? Thanks. No rush.

If you are interested in looking into history of the deletion, when you come back from your leave of absence, feel free to take a boo at User:Geo Swan/working/Guantanamo related articles which have been nominated for deletion.
