A 29 year old programmer, parent and poker playing politician, Herb Riede works by day at Boyds Bears as a web developer, serving as Mayor for McSherrystown, and often playing poker on the World Tavern Poker Tour. As Mayor, was most recently featured in the media by ABC 27 (Harrisburg, PA) after serving on a community panel instructing local residents on "How To Run For Local Office" [1]. His latest big poker win was in Atlantic City in May 2007 at the World Tavern Poker Open, besting 170 players in a $40+10 buy-in tournament for $1438 in a three-way chop with two other people.
Riede has been elected to public office twice, and received both the Republican and Democratic nominations in both elections (2003 for Council, 2005 for Mayor). He has traveled from California to New Hampshire for politics, Florida to New York for programming, and soon it will be Atlantic City to Vegas for poker.
