[edit] Photograph
That main photo is AWFUL. Surely there is a better picture around, it's just a mass of steel, there isn't even a train in it. Please change it someone. PMBO 15:29, 13 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Renaming Article
I propose renaming the article 'Hersheypark' due to the fact that that is how it is most commonly spelled.
Reasons:
- All instances of the name inside the park are in all capitals.
- Ergo, there should be no capitalisation change halfway through the name, as was before in the article, 'HersheyPark'
- All instances of the name inside the park are one word.
- Ergo, the article should be renamed as one word, not two.
For these reasons, the article should be permanently renamed 'Hersheypark', rather than 'Hersheypark' being a redirect to the incorrect name 'Hershey Park'

- For- I agree that the article should be renamed to Hersheypark and that Hershey Park should redirect to Hersheypark, instead of how it is now, which is back words as you have said. Let us vote and after a week go with the consensus. Also, could you sign your comments with four ~'s as it says at Wikipedia:Sign your posts on talk pages? Brian Sisco 13:27, 25 July 2005 (UTC)
Hersheypark's official name is HersheyPark. Before 1971, it was known as Hershey Park.
- If this is so, then they make absolutley no effort to spell it like that. The title of hersheypark.com is "Hersheypark, PA Amusement Park..." The street name is Hersheypark Drive, not HersheyPark drive. They have enough clout that if they wanted it to be HersheyPark Drive to match what you say is the proper spelling, they would. [edit] ZOOAMERICA
ZOOAMERICA is spelled in all caps, and that's all there is to it, so please stop changing it.
- See their site: http://www.hersheypa.com/attractions/zooAmerica/index.php

[edit] Two things
First, I agree that the proper capitalization is HersheyPark (one word, both H and P capitalized), though internally it is always written HERSHEYPARK.
Second, I added a "Corporate" section, and will probably also start an article for the Hershey Trust. The park has a rather convoluted (but quite interesting, at least for an employee) history in this regard. What is there now is (to the best of my knowledge, again as an employee) the current structure of ownership and whatnot. Anybody with more info... that would be splendiforous.
Thanks,

- An article already exists for The Hershey Trust as well as the Hershey Entertainment and Resorts Company. However both links could use more information. myselfalso 14:41, 3 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Flying Falcon
Does anybody know what's going on with the Flying Falcon? I noticed a few days ago that it is largely disassembled, and only the tower remains. Search4Lancer 22:43, 3 June 2006 (UTC)
- It's "Standing But Not Operating" at the moment. It should be running sometime this summer. --myselfalso 04:42, 6 June 2006 (UTC)
The Falcon was getting much-needed new parts over the summer. It opened back up in July.
[edit] The Boardwalk at Hershey
So i was working at Hersheypark today as a the supervisor and all these media people came and i got drift of the new Boardwalk thing. Their website is really cool. I can't wait till next season! Mate Nagy 02:31, 13 July 2006 (UTC)Mate
[edit] Defunct attractions merger
I think that it is a bad idea to merge the defunct attractions article into this one. It has enough information to merit a seperate article and a mention on this one. What do you think?
ed 23:59, 25 January 2007 (UTC)
Oppose Adding Defunct Hersheypark Attractions to Hersheypark would make Hersheypark to long. Branson03 19:06, 8 February 2007 (UTC) Oppose. It merits being it's own article. --myselfalso 00:08, 9 February 2007 (UTC) Oppose Long enough for its own article. Unc1242 18:53, 28 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Dining
Is there a Crustano's Deli in Hersheypark? I couldn't find any reference to it in a quick web search. --Rich Janis 22:28, 3 April 2007 (UTC)
Yes there is. It's on the right hand side as you walk from the Carousel to the Comet. Nybound 15:58, 14 May 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Citation needed
The Hersheypark#History section has the following sentence, which seems to have originated in the edit of "23:37, 9 September 2006 71.224.252.111":
- "Until the early 1960's African-Americans were not employed at any of the Hershey enterprises due to a policy set by Milton Hershey himself."
If that's true, a citation would be great, and the statement could usefully be added to The_Hershey_Company#Controversy, which describes a recent reverse-discrimination investigation.
However, the statement is very broad--perhaps overly so, as evidenced by the following. According to the Hershey Community Archives page titled, "ORIGINS OF HOTEL HERSHEY", the hotel's floorplan included a "Colored Helps Locker Room" in 1933. Whether this refers only to employees of the hotel's guests, or the hotel did have African-American employees in 1933, it still reinforces the need for a good citation.

[edit] About the Photo
I fixed it. I changed it to the skyview of the park that was originally at the middle of the page.
[edit] Milton Hershey School
I added and changed some things to the Milton Hershey School page. I'm an alumnus who just happened to come across the page ...

[edit] 2008 plans
At Hersheypark, one of the lifeguards at the boardwalk told me that western chute chute-out and canyon ruver rapids will be removed for next year, with canyon river rapids being replaced by a 7-ft deep wave pool. has anyone else heard anything about this?
69.249.94.0 19:45, 31 July 2007 (UTC)
- I was just informed that Western Chute-Out, Canyon River Rapids, and Pioneer Virtual Theater are all going to be gone. Well, I was told that if I want to ride any of them, I better do it soon. I was also told that an announcement is to be made next Thursday (August 9) on the plans, and that it's "very, very exciting." I don't find a wave pool to be all that exciting, so I'm not so sure about that. Search4Lancer 05:22, 2 August 2007 (UTC)
