I, Username Aryeztur has just written and cleanup up this article. Everyone else is welcome to add further details.

[edit] hey

So in case you've been wondering, I've been the one working on this page.

And Aryeztur, I think it would be a good idea to leave out discussion about God and sexuality, seeing as how those are both pretty sensitive issues and they really have no place in an article about a public school.

[edit] Re: Hey

I know. The whole dignity of wikipedia lies in the trust people have in other people to write non-bias articles. I just put those in to tick the other person off, who I now know to be you. I had suspected that the person was a STACy anyhow because of the nice STAC section they wrote. At first I thought you were Ms. Greaf though for some strange reason. Anyhow, now that I found out, lol...we're all a bit egotistical eh? But anyhow, good job, you're a very good Wiki author. I guess we could argue that we co-wrote this thing. That was fun though. But I'm tried now. I think its time for other people to write a bit. Cyaz.

Perhaps we shouldn't use our real names because we don't want to tell the whole world especially Herricks teachers and Herricks administrators that we've been the ones working on it, although we did a pretty good job, we don't want to be the subject of someone's wrath.

Now, I wonder who Herricks1 is....

[edit] Yo

Aryeztur you made a good page. I tried to get a picture of Herricks high school on it but it did not work. Think you could do it?

[edit] Re: Yo

I'll try to put a pic on. Can you stop deleted the word "Alcohol" please. Underage alcohol and alcohol on school grounds is illegal.

[edit] Yo

The article is good. Try to cut down on personal information.

[edit] Um

Just curious, who are you. I'm (delete name after you read it; ill delete your name after I read your response), a Junior.

[edit] um...

Ah, I know who you are.

[edit] Since I've been accused of being a "vicious wiki-editor"...

This is basically pretty much all I've done to the page:

  • reordered things.
  • merged headers so the table of contents didn't go to 20.
  • deleted a section about ethnic groups where the percentages were mentioned above
    • deleted a section about Herricks being most diverse; see Lynbrook High School or Monta Vista High School if you want to know where I'm coming from
    • deleted a section on practiced religions - just flat out not needed
  • corrected spelling and grammar
  • deleted a section on student government which was just an attack on ASB
  • deleted excerpts of the UN Declaration of Human Rights - a wikilink will do, you don't need it stated on a high school article
  • deleted "legends": the phrase would be notable alumni, and adding a recent graduate probably isn't condusive to the article (and I'm pretty sure not everyone will agree with him being a legend.)

That's it. My talk page, if you want to talk/ask more questions/whatever. -- Jjjsixsix (t)/(c) @ 04:28, 16 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Evil Stac Bias

Mr.Delalio, please stop using this site to propogate your liberal, self-centered STAC agenda and bias.

[edit] The Journal (in Publications)

Somebody keeps on editing out one of the school publications, the Journal, a political magazine. Please stop.

[edit] Cleanup

I removed quite a bit of unencyclopedic information and put in an infobox.. It read like a brochure for the school. Clamster5 15:40, 31 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Re: Quiz Bowl Section

The Herricks School District has a policy preventing names of students from being published w\o permission, therefore I have removed a student's name from the Quiz Bowl Section. - Bezking 20:56, 2 December 2006 (UTC)

This is not the Herricks School District nor are we required to abide by their policies. I'm sure if you made a compelling argument (safety, privacy, etc.) we'd be happy to comply but we won't remove information from this encyclopedia merely because another unrelated organization has internal policies prohibiting that organization from publishing it. --ElKevbo 21:04, 2 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] School Colors

Are not the school colors Blue & Silver, not "Blue, White, Gray"?

[edit] Athletics

Can anyone confirm a reference, for swimming and fencing? I don't see them referenced on the official Herricks websites? Who are their coaches? Are there separate men's and women's teams? If a source is confirmed, they deserve more respect should be put on to the official Herricks website. Is there a schedule posted for these teams? What season do they play in? —The preceding comment was added by Jw220635 (talk • contribs) 15:44, 1 February 2007 (UTC).
