Number 3's dream looks eeriely like the ship of light from Original Series. BTW, the BS Valkyrie looks cool. And Baltar's a lucky ****

[edit] Synopsis

First off, excellent job on getting the synop for this ep up so fast. However, I did make two minor tweaks to the last paragraph:

  • Added reference to Novacek's last scene, where he and Adama exchange their final salutes before Novacek leaves for what's presumed to be another ship in the fleet. Note that this may be considered speculation, but as I didn't tape this ep I couldn't wind back to see if any mention was made of where he was actually going.
  • The bit about "renewing their friendship" is arguably speculation. I trimmed this to where it now states that they were simply sitting down to talk. However, if anyone feels that it should be added back in, I've no problems with this, as with any similar trimming to my addition above. Sixty Six 08:26, 18 November 2006 (UTC)
I used to write these all the time, as soon as possible while the plot was still fresh in my mind. Not sure about Novacek returning to civilian life or not - but if he wanted to remain military I'd assume he'd choose to stay aboard Galactica. Maybe he's taking a hiatus? I heard Novacek is supposed to be a recurring character from now on but I'm not sure how big a role he'll be playing. I personally would like to see him return again. If I recall from this episode, I think Adama said he was one of the best pilots he every seen which is why he was chosen for the recon mission. Be a shame to waste his talents - but if he's a broken man he might be better off staying out of combat. About the last part it may be too soon to say for sure what will happen - I'd assume they're rekindling their friendship at least - as for Tigh taking back his XO position, who knows? Well have to see what happens since Agathon is the new XO and will have to be demoted. Cyberia23 09:40, 18 November 2006 (UTC)
It's pretty obvious that Helo doesn't deserve to be XO after he sabotaged the mission last week. 24.196.81.209 16:36, 18 November 2006 (UTC)
Well Adama seems to have let the matter pass. He's pretty forgiving. Cyberia23 23:30, 18 November 2006 (UTC)

By the way - seeing Number Three in bed with Baltar AND Six - I was like "Daaaaaaaaaamn!" Cyberia23 09:57, 18 November 2006 (UTC)

You ain't the only one.. that dirty Baltar *puts on devil smirk* MatthewFenton (talk  contribs  count  email) 16:43, 18 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Paving the way..

Is it just me or does this storyline seem to be paving the way for something *big*/*major* ? MatthewFenton (talk  contribs  count  email) 16:44, 18 November 2006 (UTC)

Not sure, this might have been just a "filler" episode, but maybe we'll see more of Novacek. I was wondering if Novacek was a nod to X-Files character Alex Krycek. They seem to have both been spies who have been "screwed" by the government. Be interesting to see what develops. Cyberia23 23:35, 18 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Tigh's "accidental" revelation to Novacek

"Novacek has paid Tigh a visit, where Tigh accidentally reveals the truth about the mission to him as well, thinking Novacek already knew what really happened."

Didn't strike me as very accidental at all. Pgr94 18:10, 24 November 2006 (UTC)
I reworded it. Cyberia23 08:12, 25 November 2006 (UTC)
I watched the scene again and I can't figure out whether it was accidental or not. Tigh is hard to fathom. The text seems fine to me now. Pgr94 15:01, 25 November 2006 (UTC)
Yeah, it was kinda hard to explain that, which is why I said it was a mistake. If Tigh knew that Novacek didn't know the truth he probably wouldn't have said anything. Tigh got upset when he realized Novacek didn't know. Cyberia23 05:27, 26 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Censoring?

I missed the first airing of the ep, and upon catching a repeat today, it seems Admiral Adama says the word Bullshit during his first conversation with Novacek, but it was censored. Was the word used in the original broadcast, was it always censored, or was it something else all together and the audio just dropped randomly for me? Reason I ask is that, while BSG has never really shied away from mature content, they really haven't used much in terms of "inappropriate" language, and if they knew it would be censored by the network, why not loop in different dialog? --Jeffrey O. Feh, nevermind. Answered by Battlestar Wiki. Shouldda gone there first. --Jeffrey O. Gustafson - Shazaam! - <*> 11:04, 20 December 2006 (UTC)
