[edit] His name

Why Hermann Marcus Adler? He is shown in the Jewish Encyclopedia and other reference works as just Hermann Adler. Given that Ashkenazi Jews don't name children after living relatives, it would be extraordinary if he had the same name as his father. RachelBrown 09:54, 22 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Definitely no indication of a middle name. Also, it is misleading to say that he was the orthodox Chief Rabbi. That suggests that someone else was using the title Chief Rabbi, which was not true, and that he was recognised as Chief Rabbi by all orthodox Jews, including the Sephardim and the Federation of Synagogues, which was also not true.--66.232.118.159 14:36, 28 October 2007 (UTC)
