I heard that he committed suicide - not sure why. Is this true?

For UK readers Rob Cowan is featuring him this week on CD Masters, so some might be able to pick up clues from that programme on BBC. Readers around the world will also be able to pick this up via streaming or Listen Again - see http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio3/ - 16th May, 2006

German Wikipedia seems to say that he killed himself. Grover cleveland 09:02, 16 May 2006 (UTC)
German Wikipedia not only seems to, it says so. Seems to be true also, cf. [1]. --FordPrefect42 07:48, 23 July 2006 (UTC)
Herbert Kegel didn't commit suicide. He was murdered! *gasps* By someone on this very page! April Fool's!
