[edit] Summary

Herbes de Provence. Ingredients: dried basil, dried thyme, marjoram, dried summer savory, dried chervil, rosemary, dried lavender flowers, dried tarragon, dried mint, dried oregano, crumbled bay leaf, fennel seeds (optional), and dried sage (optional).

Photo by Flickr user: French Tart-FT. Photo taken at the photographer's home--the Auberge de la Fontaine bed and breakfast--which is located in the village of Montpellier-de-Médillan, in the département of Charente-Maritime, near Cognac and Saintes in the Poitou-Charentes region of southwestern France. Photo taken with a Nikon Coolpix L1 digital camera, on March 23, 2007.

The herbes de Provence mix in the photograph is the photographer's own recipe, and is used in many of her recipes and cooking that she does for her guests (in the Chambres D'Hotes she has at her bed and breakfast) and contains herbs that are grown in her garden.

Hello, this is a great photo -- would you allow it to be used as the representative photo at the Wikipedia page about Herbes de Provence? (We don't have a photo there yet.)

[edit] Additional email clarifying license

dbadagna says:

-) Thank *you*! One more thing: for a photo to be uploaded to Wikipedia, Wikipedia asks that the photographer allow it to be used freely by releasing it under the CC (Creative Commons) 2.0-attribution license; this license allows a photo to be used by anyone who finds it, for any purpose (including educational, commercial, or other use), but it is stipulated that they must give credit to the photographer and provide a link to the photographer's photo page.

The CC 2.0 license was selected because it's very clear about stipulating that the photo be properly credited. Here is the text of the license:

creativecommons.org/licenses/by/2.0/

If this would be okay with you, just give the go-ahead and I'll place it at the Herbes de Provence page, as the representative photo for this herb mixture.

Thank you again. Posted 21 hours ago.

[edit] Additional email clarifying acceptance of license

French Tart-FT says:

Thanks dbadagna for sending me the link to the CC 2.0 Licence page - I have read the CC 2.0 agreement and I have no problems with it, so you have my permission to go ahead and use my photo.

Most Herbes de Provence recipes DO contain more than 4 herbs - it is Bouquet Garni that usually only contains about 4 herbs!

So, yes - please go ahead and use my photo on the Herbes de Provence Wilkipedia page!

A bientot!
