Herzog August Bibliothek (germ. Die Herzog-August-Bibliothek, „HAB“) in Wolfenbüttel, (Niedersachsen), known also as „Herzog August Bibliothek“, and „Bibliotheca Augusta“, it has an international importance for his collection from Middle Ages and Early modern Europe. The library subordinated for the Lower Saxony Ministry for Science and Culture. The HAB cooperates with the international college of scientifics.

The library was founded by Julius von Herzog (1528 - 1589) for Brunswick-Lüneburg, in 1572.

In 2006 the library housed c. 900.000 books, 350.000 of them from 15th to 18th century.[1]
