Herve Lamizana

Herve Mamadov Lamizana (born January 22, 1981 in the Ivory Coast) is a professional basketball player from the Ivory Coast who also has a French Citizenship, that recently played for Shangdong Lions from the CBL in the 2006/07 season.

Lamizana played for the St. Patrick's (Elizabeth, NJ) basketball team in high school and for Rutgers in college. He was not drafted in the NBA Draft. In the 2003-2004 season at Rutgers he achieved a spectacular 102 blocks and pulled down 252 rebounds. During his career at Rutgers, Lamizana was know for his spectacular talent and athleticism for his size, but also his lack of fire and consistency.

His first professional team outside of the United States was in Turkey with Turk Telekom Ankara, with whom he signed on September 2004[1]. Later that season he moved to Israel and played for Hapoel Galil Elyon. He played in Israel in the next season with Hapoel Tel Aviv, after starting the season in South Korea. In 2006 he moved to China and played for the Shangdong Lions.
