[edit] History

The club received FA recognition in 1866, and were formed at some point before that. Rangers featured in the FA Cup between 1875 and 1881, making them the dominant side in Hertfordshire.

Their team were largely compromised of players from Cambridge University students, as the University did not have a team at the time, and schools at Aldenham and Elstree. When the club folded in December 1882 it was because they were unable to replace players who had left the schools for University.

A club bearing the same name was formed in 2001.

[edit] Grounds

The club occupied three grounds during their history, all of which were close to Watford Junction and the Malden Hotel, their social headquarters. One of these grounds was a meadow on Langley Road, Watford.
