Heron Island (Quebec)

Heron Island is a small island of the Saint Lawrence River at the Lachine rapids, near Montreal, Quebec, Canada. It is one of "Saint-Laurent, Vision 2000" 37 protected sites. Although privately owned by "Hydro-Québec", they have agreed to manage it as a protected reserve.

It has a quite a rare array of of birds, trees and flowers. And herons.
