Heron Creek Middle School is a middle school located in North Port, Florida, USA. It holds about 2000+ students from Grades 6 - 8 and teaches according to the Sunshine State Standards. The school was opened in 2003. Previously, its students attended North Port High School.
The school is a Community of Caring school The idea of the program is to:
- Create a positive environment
- Empower all people to reach their full potential
- Remove barriers of bigotry and prejudice that infringe upon individual freedom, respect and progress
- Attract talent that reflects our community
Every Wednesday, before first period, the students all attend a 30 minute class, which features various videos, roleplaying games, and lectures.
The school's mascot is the Patriots.
The school also holds an annual 5k race at the school to raise money for school functions.
