Herman Wallace (political prisoner)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

1972 white security guard Brent Miller was killed in Angola Penitentiary. On May 5, 1972, Herman Wallace and three other black men were charged with Miller's death. Evidence from prison records show that about the time of Miller's death, Herman was in the license plate factory. In particular this means that there was no way possible for him to leave the scene of the crime and be at his job without being noticed by the security guards at the various check-point gates. The case against Herman hinged upon inmate witnesses who testified that blood was all over him. Yet, as he passed each check-point gate no security guard ever testified to seeing blood on him at any time. This is because Herman was simply not in the area, proven by the prison records. See Angola 3.
