Hutjesa bap, a traditional Korean dish, is a variety of bibimbap, served with soy sauce (ganjang) instead of the gochujang (hot pepper paste) that is more commonly used. Hutjesa bab consists of mainly several types of namul (young sprouted vegetables) over white rice. It is also served with grilled fish and some jeon (Korean pancake).

The dish originated in Andong, Gyeongsang-do, a famous place where scholars lived and studied during the Joseon Dynasty. Hutjesa bap literally means "rice dish for fake anniversary ceremony."

There is a legend that says as there was little rice and insufficient foods during the old days, some scholars living here during the Yi Dynasty prepared foods for fake funeral anniversaries and held false ceremonies and enjoyed the delicious ceremonial food. And another legend says that even the common people held the fake funeral anniversary ceremonies to enjoy the rich ceremonial foods.[1]
