The article sates he entered the House of Lords for the Liberal party in 1866. However the Liberal party didn't get used as a term officially until 1868. Did he really enter as a Whig? -- SGBailey 2004-02-26

The foundation of the Liberal Party is normally dated to a meeting in 1859 and in any case the term was already in use before then. Timrollpickering 05:53, 7 Jan 2005 (UTC)
