Henry of Antioch

Henry of Antioch (b. 1198-1217, d. June, 1276),[1] alternately known as Henri de Poitiers or Henry of Poitiers, was the son of Bohemond IV of Antioch, Prince of Antioch and his first wife Plaisance Embriaco de Giblet.

[edit] Marriage and offspring
Henry married Isabella of Antioch, the daughter of Hugh I of Cyprus and Alice of Champagne and Regent of the Kingdom of Jerusalem. Their son, Hugh III of Cyprus, became King of Cyprus and King of Jerusalem (as Hugh I).[2]

Henry drowned at sea. The date of his drowning is unsure,but it occurred sometime between June 18 and June 28, 1276.[3]

Henry and Isabella are seen as the founders of the second dynasty of Lusignan, with their son Hugh deciding to take the Lusignan name.
Henry is the 13-great grandfather of King George I of Great Britain, the 20-great grandfather of Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Winston Churchhill, the 21-great grandfather of Diana, Princess of Wales, the 22-great grandfather of Albert II, Prince of Monaco, and the 15-great grandfather of King Louis XVII of France.[4] [5]
