Stanton was one of the many characters who was manipulated by Irish inmate Ryan O'Reily.
[edit] Season 4, part I
After a year at Unit B, Henry Stanton started to fight with Irish rapist Patrick Keenan. After sometime, Ryan O'Reily killed Keenan.

After a fight with Jaz Hoyt, Stanton was sent to Protective Custody, where he befriended Cyril O'Reily, who started to tell Henry about Ryan's behavior. When discovered that Cyril was talking to Stanton about him, Ryan intimidated Stanton to stop talking to Cyril and told Cyril that Stanton was a bad man.

Out of Custody, Stanton tried to become a friend of Cyril, but again Ryan ordered him to disaper. Then, Ryan paid inmate Martin Montgomery to tell Warden Leo Glynn he saw Stanton killing Keenan. Stanton was interrogated and thrown in the hole. When he got out, he asked O'Reily who lied to Warden Glynn. Ryan told that Montgomery did it. Angry, Stanton got a pencil and stabed Martin in the neck, making him unable to talk. Henry was again thrown in the hole.

The solitary evaluations came and Stanton was released from the hole. He joined the theater group at the play MacBeth and complained to lawyer Tobias Beecher that the COs were making him work with pain on the back. After Glynn's death, Stanton told Tim McManus that Lionel Kelsch was talking that he killed Glynn.
