Henry Stanhope, Lord Stanhope

Henry Stanhope, Lord Stanhope KB (died 29 November 1634), styled as Lord Stanhope from 1628 to 1634, was an English noble and politician.

The oldest son of the 1st Earl of Chesterfield and Catherine Hastings, he was Member of Parliament (MP) for Nottinghamshire in 1626 and for East Retford. In 1625 or 1626, he was made a Knight of the Order of the Bath.

Stanhope died intestate in St Martin-in-the-Fields in London and was buried in Boughton Malherbe on 2 December 1634.

On 4 December 1628, he married Katherine Wotton (later Countess of Chesterfield), daughter of the 2nd Baron Wotton in Boughton Malherbe in Kent. They had one daughter and one son, Philip Stanhope, who succeeded his grandfather as Earl of Chesterfield.
