Henry Percy, 11th Duke of Northumberland
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Henry Alan Walter Richard Percy, 11th Duke of Northumberland FRS (July 1, 1953–October 31, 1995) was the son of Hugh Percy, 10th Duke of Northumberland. He was a godchild of Queen Elizabeth II.
He was educated at Eton College and Christ Church, Oxford. After succeeding to the Dukedom, he was noted for planting many trees at Syon House, the Ducal residence at Brentford; for an unsuccessful foray into film-making involving the Duke in front of and behind the camera; and for a relationship with the mother of supermodel Naomi Campbell. He never married and died from myalgic encephalomyelitis - which may have been linked to an alleged amphetamine addicition, aged 42.
He was succeeded to the Dukedom by his younger brother Lord Ralph Percy.
