From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Henri Jules de Bourbon-Condé (Henry III Jules, Prince of Condé) (July 29, 1643 – April 1, 1709) was Prince de Condé, from 1686 to his death. As a young man, he bore the courtesy title of Duc de Bourbon. He was the son of Louis II of Bourbon, Le Grand Condé, and his wife, Claire Clémence de Maillé Brézé, a niece of Cardinal Richelieu. As a member of the reigning House of Bourbon, he was a Prince du Sang.
[edit] Life
He was destined for a military career and was in 1673 in charge of the Rhine front. But this was just in name, because Henry lacked the military skills of his father. He was well educated but had a malicious character. At the end of his life he suffered from clinical lycanthropy and was considered insane.
