Henry Bauchau

Henry Bauchau (b. 22 January 1913) is a Belgian psychoanalyst as well as author of French-language prose and poetry. He was born in Malines and has spent a considerable part of his life in Paris.

Bauchau has won numerous awards in both Belgium and France. He was elected to the Royal Academy of Belgian Literature in 1990.

One of Bauchau's most acclaimed novels is Œdipe sur la route, 1990, which has since been translated into English. The actor Patrick Bauchau is Henry's son.
